Wolseley to strut creative stuff on weekend

WINNIPEG’S "granola belt" will be strutting its creative stuff this weekend.

Envision, Wolseley’s annual art and music festival, runs Friday evening (7-10 and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.) at R.A. Steen Community Centre, 980 Palmerston Ave.

Envision, a celebration of the abundance of artistic talent in the Wolseley-West Broadway community, will showcase visual, film and video, literary and performing arts. There will be musical performances every hour, Saturday kids’ workshops and artisans selling jewelry and other wares, including carved walking sticks.

A Saturday concert, which starts at 7 p.m., will feature Larry Updike & the B Side Apostles, Ingrid D Johnson & her Funky Fresh Crew and Keith Dyck & his Strata Honkeys. Admission is free and there will be a cash bar.

A full schedule of events is posted at www.envisionartsfestival.ca.
