  • Print

A 20-year-old Winnipeg woman is dead after being thrown from a motorcycle, Selkirk RCMP report.

The driver, 26, is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision expert is assisting the investigation, but preliminary details indicate speed was a factor. One helmet was found at the scene, but it's not known who was wearing it at the time of the crash, RCMP noted.

The motorcycle had turned a corner and hit a parked car at Lyall Drive and River Road in Rural Municipality of St. Andrews. The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. Sunday.
