Rollovers claim two lives last week

RCMP reported a second fatality, Monday, this time in Piney, in the southeastern corner of Manitoba.

RCMP Sprague Detachment and emergency crews were dispatched about 11:15 p.m. Friday night after a single vehicle was reported to have rolled over on Road 64 East south of Road 24 North in the RM of Piney.

The lone driver, identified as a 40-year-old area man, was found deceased in proximity from the vehicle. It appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle on the gravel road and rolled. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The other fatality, involved a 42-year-old woman who died after her truck rolled in a ditch on Friday near Ste Rose du Lac, RCMP said earlier today.

The woman was driving a pick-up truck on Highway 276 Friday afternoon when the  vehicle rolled over  about two kilometres north of Magnet.

Emergency crews were called to the scene about 2 p.m.

The woman died a few hours later in hospital.

She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision. Her name is not being released
