Woman goes through window to escape house fire in Portage

A Portage la Prairie woman escaped her burning home through a window early today, RCMP report.

The woman was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Portage la Prairie fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, but the single-family dwelling is a total loss, RCMP said.

Mounties responded to an  emergency call about 2 a.m. from the woman after she escaped the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation with assistance from the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner.
