Woman sexually assaulted during noon-hour in Exchange District

City police are looking for a man after a 26-year-old woman told officers that she was sexually assaulted Wednesday during the noon-hour in The Exchange District.

The woman told police she was walking in the area of Albert Street over the noon-hour when a man approached her from behind and groped her by grabbing her around the waist, and then aggressively pulling her towards himself.

He then fled.

The woman wasn’t physically injured.

She described the man as in his late 20s or early 30s, Asian in appearance, of medium height and build, with a thin moustache and a dark complexion that features acne scars on his cheeks. He was wearing a black toque, dark sunglasses, a waist-length red-and-black snowmobile jacket and dark jeans.

The woman was assisted after the attack by several people who are unknown to her.

Police ask that anyone who helped her, or witnessed the incident, to contact them at 986-6288.
