Woman accused in fatal beating faces new charges

An accused Winnipeg killer is back in custody after allegedly going off the rails during the holidays.

Debbie Rose Redskye, 42, was arrested Thursday and charged with several breaches of her bail conditions, including failing to abstain from alcohol and drugs, failing to abide by a curfew and failing to live at a specified address.

Redskye is one of four people accused of a deadly beating inside an Aberdeen Avenue home last October. She was charged with manslaughter and released on strict bail conditions several days later.

Leroy George Ross, 38, suffered fatal injuries during a night-long drinking party which area residents say was a routine event that became the scourge of the neighbourhood.

Police allege Ross was jumped by three women inside the house, with the attack spilling into the backyard, where a man joined the women as they beat Ross.

Police said the attackers went back inside and rejoined the party, leaving Ross lying in the backyard where he was found several hours later by a police officer on a neighbourhood beat patrol.

Ross was taken to hospital in critical condition but died of his injuries the following day. It was the city's 25th homicide of 2012. Ross and his attackers were friends, police said.

Linda Margaret McDoughall, 35, Mary Sue Harper, 37, and Swanson Annanias Ross, 42, have also been charged with manslaughter.
