You will not see me, feel me, touch me or heal me: Daltrey cancels concerts

Tommy won’t be in Winnipeg next week.

The Who’s frontman Roger Daltrey has cancelled concerts in Winnipeg and Saskatoon next week due to "unforeseen circumstances," according to a statement issued Wednesday. No further reasons were given for the cancellation by promoter AEG Live.

Ticket refunds will be available at point of purchase beginning on Oct. 31.

Daltrey was scheduled to perform the Who’s entire 1969 concept album Tommy at the MTS Centre on Nov. 2 with his new band as part of a North American tour that has been earning positive reviews since kicking off in Florida on Sept. 13.

The Who’s guitarist and main songwriter, Pete Townshend, is not part of Daltrey’s touring band. His role is being filled by his younger brother Simon Townshend.

Daltrey premiered the Tommy show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England on March 24.

In 2009 Daltrey had surgery on his throat to remove a pre-cancerous growth.
