Alleged menacer of blind man interviewed

WINNIPEG police have identified and interviewed a man suspected of uttering threats against a blind man and his guide dog on a Transit bus Sept. 17.

The Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Saturday the suspect was identified after surveillance photos were made available to the public.

The suspect has been interviewed and the information has been forwarded to the Crown attorney for an opinion on whether or not to lay charges.

Police received a tip from the public about the man's identity. They contacted him and arranged to meet with him and he was arrested, interviewed and released, police said.

The suspect's prior involvement with police is minor, police said.
