Bombardier lands US$507M contract for eight business aircraft

MONTREAL - Bombardier Aerospace says it has received firm orders for eight of its Global business aircraft in a transaction valued at approximately US$507 million.

The Montreal-based manufacturer (TSX:BBD.B) says the orders have come from an "undisclosed customer."

The orders include three of Bombardier's Global 6000 jets and five of the company's Global 8000 jets.

The company says the value of the transaction is based on the 2012 list price for typically equipped aircraft.

Steve Ridolfi, president of Bombardier's business aircraft division, says sales momentum for the Global product line is strong and the company is experiencing "tremendous" success with the jets.

Bombardier is the world's largest manufacturer of business jets and the third-largest maker of passenger jets overall, after Airbus and Boeing.
