Canada earns two more wins to improve to 5-0 at world wheelchair curling event

SOCHI, Russia - Canada's Jim Armstrong earned two more wins Monday to remain unbeaten at the world wheelchair curling championship.

Armstrong's rink defeated China's Haitao Wang 9-5 before downing Slovakia’s Radoslav Duris 7-3 to improve to 5-0.

American Patrick McDonald is also undefeated at 3-0 while Scotland’s Aileen Neilson, the lone female skip in the field, is at 3-2.

Armstrong will face McDonald on Tuesday as Canada continues its quest for a third world championship in four years.

The competition is being held at the Ice Cube Curling Centre, which will host the curling competitions at the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This is the first curling event to be staged at the venue.
