From Yeomen of the Guard to Moletaker: website puts British royal staff records online

LONDON - People around the world will be able to discover whether they have a royal connection — at least below stairs — with publication of 250 years of records listing staff who served the British monarchy.
Employee records from royal residences including Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle are being put online Friday to coincide with this weekend's celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.
The lists range from the 17th-century reign of King Charles II until 1924. They include more than 50,000 employees, from household servants to the esoterically titled Moletaker, Chocolate Maker to the Queen and Keeper of the Lions in the Tower.
The records previously could only be viewed by appointment at Windsor Castle. They have been digitized by the Royal Archives and genealogy site www.findmypast.co.uk.
