Watertown

With apologies to Billy Joel

Well we're living here in Watertown

Where we're thankful that the Red's gone down

Out in Calgary they're cleaning up

Pumping out basements

The flood was abrupt

There's a pool inside the Saddledome

Tens of thousands had to leave their homes

Never, ever thought they'd see the Bow

Spread through downtown

Quintuple its flow

Well we're thankful here in Watertown

For the Manitoban flat, flat ground

Sure it floods here every other year

But it comes slowly

So we never fear

Count your blessings here in Watertown

Adapted from Allentown, recorded by Billy Joel in 1982
