Leafs' Grabovski faces disciplinary hearing amid biting allegations

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski will face a disciplinary hearing with the NHL on Monday morning amid biting allegations.

Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty accused Grabovski of biting him during a fight at the 11:30 mark of the third period in Toronto's 6-0 victory over Montreal on Saturday night.

Grabovski faces a hearing with the league's department of player safety, which was initially scheduled for Sunday afternoon but rescheduled to Monday morning.

Grabovski received a 10-minute misconduct and a roughing minor after the scuffle. Pacioretty was also issued a 10-minute misconduct on the play.

Pacioretty emerged from the melee showing his wrist to the officials, claiming that Grabovski bit him.

"That doesn't belong in our sport," Montreal defenceman Josh Gorges said after the game. "If you get in there, stand up for yourself, be a man, drop your gloves, and you'll have respect. But bite somebody? That doesn't belong in our league."

"I saw the bite," said Montreal coach Michel Therrien. "You can see that on the video. I'm sure the league's going to pay attention to that."

Grabovski has three goals and two assists in 12 games so far this season.
