BERLIN - Germany's top security official says there are serious indications of possible terror attacks in the United States and Europe.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper that the recent discovery of bombs mailed from Yemen was one reason to air his concerns.

He urged people on Saturday to be vigilant because "there are indications that have to be taken seriously of attacks in Europe and the U.S.A." — but he said that authorities have "no concrete leads." He did not elaborate.

One of the mail bombs was discovered after transiting a German airport. De Maiziere said it still isn't clear where they were supposed to explode.
