Canada's junior men sweep Mexico in semi, to face Cuba in final

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador - Canada's junior men's team swept Mexico 3-0 Friday in the semifinals of the 2008 NORCECA junior men's championships.

The 25-17, 25-17, 25-13 win earned Canada a berth in the 2009 junior men's world championships and a date with Cuba in the gold medal final on Saturday.

Creston, B.C., native Gord Perrin led the Canada with' points on 12 kills, five stuff blocks and a service ace, while Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont., recorded 10 tallies of his own.

In Friday's earlier semifinal of the under-21 tournament, Cuba defeated the United States 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-20).
