LONDON (AP) -- Police have closed a major road in central London because of reports of a suspicious vehicle, hours after a bomb squad defused an explosives-laden car in the city’s theatre district.
A police spokeswoman says the suspicious vehicle is on Park Lane, on the eastern edge of Hyde Park.
It is unknown if the two incidents are linked.
Police say a 200-metre restriction area has been set up around the vehicle.
Sky News said the vehicle is believed to be an open-topped tourist bus.
"They're just looking at it at the moment," the police spokeswoman said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with official policy.
She says she doesn’t know the whereabouts of the driver.
