Daniel Kinley
RCMP were contacted at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
This morning, RCMP spokeswoman Sgt. Line Karpish said the boy's family and investigators are concerned because the teen was wearing only a light jacket when he left his home in the RM of Brokenhead.
It's believed he might have been heading to the nearby town of Beausejour or Winnipeg.
"We are hoping we get a call that this kid is at someone's home," said Karpish. "It is very cold outside."
Daniel is described as six -feet tall, 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red and black Roots jacket, and black and green Sorel-type winter boots.
He did not have gloves or a tuque.
Daniel's mother, Christine, said her son has Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism, and is "a very young 17."
The teen does not have his medication with him.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Beausejour RCMP detachment at 204-268-1234.
