Greyhound Canada announced today that it will be relocating its downtown Winnipeg bus depot to the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.
The move will be take place in August, 2009, when the lease on its current downtown premises expires.

Although the depot and its 58 employees will be moving to the airport, Greyhound Canada senior vice-president Stuart Kendrick said the company will maintain a downtown location where passengers can be picked up and dropped off. Where that will be at its current site near Portage Avenue and Memorial Boulevard, or somewhere else, hasn't yet been determined.
"We are excited about this move to the airport, as we believe it will help us provide our customers with greater connectivity to the surrounding area and give them a more enjoyable travel experience," Kendrick said. "This new bus facility will combine both passenger service for travellers and a vital inter-modal link for cargo destined for Manitoba and across Canada."
Greyhound's move to the airport had been widely expected after the company confirmed last year that it was talking to Winnipeg Airports Authority officials about potential building sites on the airport campus.
