JAIPUR, India -- Police say at least six people have been killed and 20 injured in a spate of bombings in the popular tourist city of Jaipur in western India.
A.K. Jain, a top police official in Jaipur, says five bombs went off in markets and several other areas of the historic city.
Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state, a region dotted with palaces and ancient cities that draw hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.
The Press Trust of Indian news agency quotes Rajasthan's police chief, A.S. Gill, as saying the bombings were "obviously a terror attack."
