Literary Festival starts today with free readings

David Bergen, Mary-Ann Kirkby and Sandra Birdsell headline the Canadian Mennonite University Spring Literary Festival that starts today.

The first reading is tonight at 7 p.m. It features Birdsell (The Russlander), Margaret Sweatman (When Alice Lay Down with Peter) and John Weier (Under the Wings of Africa).

The second reading at 7 p.m. on May 22 features Bergen (The Time in Between), Kirkby (I Am Hutterite), and Victor Enns (Lucky Man).

Readings are at the CMU’s Great Hall, on the North Campus, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. Admission is free. A schedule can be found at www.cmu.ca/news.html#literary
