U of M receiving largest private donation in its history

The University of Manitoba is receiving the largest private donation in its history, believed to be over $10 million.

The university will announced the donation at 11 a.m. today at the Eva Clare Hall in the Music Building.

The largest previous donations have been for $10 million. Media mogul Izzy Asper donated that sum to establish the I.H. Asper School of Management.

In 2005, Clayton Riddell, chief executive officer of Alberta energy company Paramount Resources, donated $10 million for the newly renamed Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth and Resources.
