A 39-year-old Emerson man is in critical but stable condition at the Health Science Centre after he was assaulted with a baseball bat outside his home early Thursday.
RCMP Emerson, with the assistance of the Winnipeg RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, the Winnipeg RCMP Major Crime Unit and the Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section, is investigating the aggravated assault.
A 21-year-old man was arrested, but has been released on a promise to appear. He is scheduled to appear in Emerson court Sept. 4.
