Mosquito count rises, fogging resumes

The city's mosquito-fogging program will resume tonight at 9:30 p.m., continuing until 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

The city-wide average adult nuisance mosquito count Friday rose to 71.

The following areas will be treated tonight: Chalmers, Glenelm, East Elmwood, Kildonan Crossing, Munroe East, Talbot Grey, Tyne Tees, Griffin, Meadows, Peguis, Radisson, Regent, Victoria West, Alpine Place, Elm Park, Lavalee, St. George, Varennes, Worthington, North Inkster Industrial, Oakpoint Highway, Omand's Creek Industrial, Tyndall Park, Burrows Central, Robertson, William Whyte, Centennial, China Town, Civic Centre, Dufferin, Dufferin Industrial, Exchange District, Logan C.P.R., Lord Selkirk Park, North Point Douglas, South Point Douglas, Inkster - Faraday, Luxton, St. John's, St. John's Park, Inkster Gardens, Mandalay West, The Maples, Garden City, Leila - McPhillips Triangle, Margaret Park, Templeton-Sinclair, and Kildonan Park.

Until further notice fogging will occur on a daily basis between 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., unless temperatures are below 13 C or if there is significant rain or wind gusts.

Residents who wish their primary residence to be excluded may register with the city in writing by contacting the Insect Control Branch at 3 Grey Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1V2, by email or by fax at 986-4868.
