Nadia Sawaya
has joined Bergen and Associates Counselling as a therapist. Sawaya has a masters degree in counselling/psychology and will be working at the Smith Street location as well as the Pembina Highway office. She will be delivering anger managment services as well as therapy to individuals and couples, including pre-marital counselling.
Dr. Michael Giuffre
has been appointed to DiaMedica Inc. board of directors. Giuffre is a clinical professor of cardiac sciences and pediatrics at the University of Calgary. He is also currently a member on the boards of the Alberta Medical Association and Unicef Canada. He is a past member of the board of the Calgary Health Region and is an active participant in the biotechnology business sector. DiaMedica is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel treatments for diabetes and neurological disorders.
Blair Enns
a former Winnipegger and president of Win Without Pitching, has just released his first book on selling creative services. The Win Without Pitching Manifesto was published by Rockbench Publishers in Nashville and is now available on Amazon.
AWARDS
Pawan K. Singal, PhD, DSc
Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (ICS) at St. Boniface Hospital, and professor of physiology at the University of Manitoba, has been recognized by the International Academy of Cardiology for career achievements in science at an awards ceremony at the 15th World Congress on Heart Disease in Vancouver, B.C. The ceremony acknowledged the outstanding achievements of five scientists selected from an international pool of nominees. Singal received the Albrecht Fleckenstein Memorial Award for his "distinguished contribution in the field of basic research in cardiology".
