Canadian Women in Communications/Shaw Media Mentorship Program
has established a mentorship in Manitoba. RoseAnna Schick of RAS Creative in Winnipeg has been selected as mentor for Amber Reitsma, communications co-ordinator for the City of Steinbach. Both are members of CWC's Manitoba chapter.
Jamie Wilson,
commissioner of the Manitoba Treaty Relations Commission, has been appointed to the Canadian Education Association Council. Wilson is a former director of education for Opaskwayak Education Authority. He has taught kindergarten through Grade 12, and has been a school counsellor, curriculum developer and cultural awareness trainer.
Julie Mikuska and Laura Mikuska
have become partners in Mikuska Group Inc., specializing in fund development for not-for-profit and charitable organizations. Julie previously held senior positions in external relations with the University of Manitoba and its alumni association.

STRATA
is expanding as a result of acquiring McCoy Solutions, located in Lumsden, Sask. The group benefits business of McCoy Solutions will be rolled into STRATA's operations. Roanna McCoy will join STRATA as a consultant and continue to work from the Lumsden office.
StandardAero
has received third-party certification for its environmental management system. The certification is in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization 14001:2004 standard for environmental management systems and covers Standard-Aero's global service network of 13 primary facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Singapore and Australia, plus sales and field service locations.

Dr. Mike Harlos,
clinical team leader of Canadian Virtual Hospice and medical director for the WRHA palliative care program, has been awarded coach's clinician leadership award for his pioneering work in the integration of communications and information technology into adult and pediatric palliative care.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils
announced its website partner, TechXpress, has won two international awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts for its work on www.manitobaharvest.com TechXpress' entry won a Silver Davey Award in the green/eco-friendly category, and a Silver W3 Award in the food and beverage category. There were more than 4,000 Davey Award entries and more than 3,000 W3 Award entries from around the world.
J.J. (Sean) Sweeney
FCMC, managing director of Sweeney Marketing Systems Inc., was awarded life membership by the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Manitoba. Sweeney is a fellow and past president of the provincial institute and a past director and national committee chair of the Canadian institute.
