Airport adding 7 Eleven and Harvey's

WINNIPEG — Slurpees, gasoline, a car wash, and a Harvey’s hamburger will soon be added to the list of things Winnipeggers and out of town visitors can buy at Winnipeg’s Richardson International Airport.

The Winnipeg Airports Authority announced today it has signed up two new retail tenants for the airport campus.

One is a 7-Eleven/Petro Canada gas station, car wash and convenience store, which will be built this summer at the Wellington Avenue entrance to the airport campus.

WAA president and CEO Barry Rempel said that should be opening in October.

And the Harvey’s fast-food restaurant chain will also be opening an eat-in restaurant in the pre-security, arrivals area of the new airport terminal, adjacent to the Manitoba Liquor Commission outlet.

Rempel said that’s expected to open before the end of the summer.

The two new tenants will join 21 other retailers already operating in the new terminal, which opened at the end of last October.
