Strategies deployed and marketing successes were highlighted at Economic Development Winnipeg’s annual meeting this morning.
Last year the lead economic development agency for Winnipeg supported successful information initiatives into the U.S. and produced and posted a series of informational videos online.
It participated in investment trade missions to China and Western Europe as part of the Consider Canada City Alliance which is made up of 12 major Canadian cities and joined an investment mission to India led by the Manitoba Business Council.
Its YES! Winnipeg initiative assisted 10 companies that are expected to invest over $175 million and employ 759 full-time equivalent workers in the city.
Tourism Winnipeg, EDW’s tourism development division launched of The Loop, a 9.5-kilometre walk that winds visitors through urban Winnipeg’s historic, cultural and architectural landmarks.
EDW also unveiled a new website this morning.
