Transport Canada has launched a review of the Canada Transportation Act one year ahead of schedule.
The fast-track is partly due to the challenging conditions of distributing last year's large grain crop.
Transport Minister Lisa Raitt made the announcement in Winnipeg today.
The review will also examine safety and environmental issues, the safe movement of goods through communities and support for the northern transportation system.
Former federal cabinet minister David Emerson will head the review.
