Job prospects looking brighter in Winnipeg
Job prospects are looking up again in Winnipeg, according to the results of the latest help-wanted survey by the Conference Board of Canada.
The Ottawa-based think tank said today a January survey of 79 job-posting websites in Canada showed an increase in the number of help-wanted postings in 25 of 27 Canadian cities, including Winnipeg.
That suggests labour markets are on the rebound and that near-term employment prospects are positive after a widespread decline in job postings in December, the board added.
It said even in the two cities that saw a drop-off in postings — Sherbrooke and St. Catharines-Niagara — the declines were modest. That suggests stable near-term employment prospects for workers in those cities, it added.
