MTS Allstream has received the Best Overall Governance Award by the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries at the Second Annual Excellence in Governance Awards.
MTS won the award against a shortlist that included some of corporate Canada’s most credible names, including Royal Bank of Canada, TransCanada Corporation and Encana Corporation.
The Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries is recognized as the most important organization for corporate governance professionals in Canada.
"This award highlights MTS Allstream’s commitment to good governance," said David Leith, chairman of the board of MTS. "We are proud to be recognized for excellence in implementing best practices that are an important part of our responsibility to our company’s stakeholders."
MTS Allstream has been recognized in the past for good governance practices including by the Globe and Mail’s Board Games as the No. 1 ranked telecommunications provider and by the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance in 2011 for best disclosure of governance practices.
