Manitoba’s Bothwell Cheese has reclaimed top spot in the Marble Cheddar category at the 86th Annual British Empire Cheese Show — winning first place for the seventh time in the past eight years.

The company also took first place in the American-style category for the third time in five years with its Monterey Jack, and second place in the hard cheese category with its newly created smoked parmesan.

The competition, started in 1927, pits cheese makers from around the world against each other.

It is billed as Canada's largest display of Canadian & International Cheese, presented by the Central Ontario Cheese Makers Association.

Bothwell Cheese is located in the village of New Bothwell, 25 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg.
