WINNIPEG — The prospects look bright for Winnipeg’s homebuilders, according to the latest metro housing starts report from the Conference Board of Canada.
The Ottawa-based think-tank said most of Canada’s Census Metropolitan Areas are expected to see fewer housing starts in the coming years.
However, Winnipeg is one of four CMAs where the housing-start prospects are positive for both the short and long term, the board said. The others are Toronto, London, and Victoria.
It said that of the 28 CMAs surveyed, 17 have positive short-term expectations, and 10 have positive long-term prospects.
