Richardson plans $120-million expansion of its Vancouver port terminal

Richardson International Limited plans to invest $120 million to dramatically expand its Vancouver port terminal.

Richardson has applied to Port Metro Vancouver for a permit approval for the project, which would take two years to complete.

Richardson’s Vancouver terminal currently handles about three million tonnes of grains and oilseeds each year. The company expects growing demand will mean it is going to handle in excess of 5 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds annually with the additional storage capacity in Vancouver.

Winnipeg-based Richardson International is Canada’s largest, privately owned agribusiness with more than 1,700 employees across Canada and is a worldwide handler and merchandiser of all major Canadian-grown grains and oilseeds.
