StandardAero signs long-term service agreement with Brit Air

StandardAero, the global gas turbine engine repair based in Winnipeg, has signed an exclusive long-term service agreement with Brit Air, a subsidiary of Air France, to do the maintenance, repair and overhaul work on the GE engines from its fleet of about 40 Canadair regional jets.

StandardAero will do the work on the CF34-8C5A1 and CF34-8C5B1 engines on Brit Air’s fleet of Bombardier CRJ1000 regional jets and a selected number of its CRJ700s.

Brit Air is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air France, one of the largest European CRJ operators and the launch customer for the CRJ1000.

StandardAero has been a long-time partner in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the GE CF34 engine and last month completed the 1000th engine.

The Brit Air work will be done out of StandardAero’s 162,000-square-foot facility in Winnipeg. StandardAero, which is owned by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, has facilities throughout the U.S. as well as locations in Europe and Asia.
