Winnipeggers sure aren't shy about sharing their opinions on pizzerias. We asked our website readers and Facebook followers to to tell us where the best pizza in the city can be found -- and you responded in droves, submitting more than 500 comments on the topic.

Royal Pizza is the best. I like it with pepperoni and green olives. Their cheese is very tasty and generous, the sauce is slightly sweet, the way I like it, and the crust is perfect.

Love Casa Grande pizza on Sargent. Perfect crust, generous with toppings, and service is always with a smile. Prices are reasonable for what you are getting. Awesome Little Italy atmosphere if you choose to dine in!

Vern's Pizza on London and Munroe. My favourite is the Taco Pizza. (But there are many others in a close second) Filled with a ton of toppings, its base uses salsa instead of tomato paste. Vern's may be considered expensive, but it's well worth it in quality! Every pizza is loaded and I mean LOADED with toppings -- you never feel ripped off. A small pizza can easily fill up two people.

Tony's Master Of Pizza. Toppings underneath the cheese, doughball in the middle for looks, nicest staff in Winnipeg and affordable. Pepperoni and banana peppers is to die for.

One of my favourites for "upscale" pizza is anything from Pizzeria Gusto, especially the "Lucia" which has caramelized onions, salami, fig jam, cambozola cheese and arugula. They seem to use all-fresh, quality ingredients, and I love the unique combinations.

Lisi's on Main Street!!! HANDS DOWN They LOAD the toppings on and use REAL cheese! And their dough has an excellent flavour to it (garlicky). I have never been to another pizza joint where you "get what you pay for" like this place.

Pizza Oven: Hands down one of the best places in the city... All handmade from scratch with fresh ingredients ... my favourite, although they are all amazing, is called the Masterpiece double sauce, double pep, double mush, smoked side bacon and extra cheese.

Santa Lucia used to have a Homestyle Greek pizza. The last time I ordered it, I had to ask the chef about it as it wasn't on the menu. It's got a deepish crust and it's loaded with feta and olives, tomatoes and a proper amount of sauce. The thing was so deeply loaded with cheese that it could have passed for a quiche.

Mr. B's in Transcona. Fresh thin crust, always hot to your door. My husband loves Meat Magnitude, which is loaded with lots of meat. I love the Taco Pizza, which has taco beef, and puts the lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese on cold so it never gets soggy. All their pizzas are loaded with toppings.

Santa Ana Pizzeriea & Bistro. Their signature Santa Ana pizza comes either wood-fired (preferred) or stone-baked with asparagus, cauliflower and prosciutto. This pizza was my first introduction to prosciutto and now I don't order pizza from anywhere else!
