The Manitoba trucking industry supports the province making a big commitment to infrastructure improvement but it's got its own issues to handle.
At the Manitoba Trucking Association's annual meeting this morning truckers heard about Manitoba's five-year infrastructure plan.
But then industry expert Lou Smyrlis outlined the challenges facing the industry -- shippers are still looking for lower prices and the slow economic recovery means there's still plenty of competition.
But Smyrlis, publisher of Transportation Media, said he still believes a capacity crunch is coming which will finally give carriers the chance to raise rates.
He's just not sure when it will arrive.
