Winnipeggers' net worth up almost 25 per cent: study

Net worth of Winnipeggers increased more than 23 per cent between 2008 and 2012, according new research released today by Pitney Bowes Software.

Winnipeggers’ average net worth increased 23.5 per cent with an increase from $323,247 in 2008 to $399,369 in 2012.

Winnipeg ranked fifth of the 17 Canadian cities rated. The top three metro areas in terms of net worth growth from 2008 to 2012 were Quebec City (65.2 per cent), Windsor (38.5 per cent) and St. Catherines-Niagara (31.7 per cent).

The average increase across the country was 15 per cent and while Toronto maintains the highest average net worth at $543,189, it was an increase of only 10.1 per cent.

At $508,333 Calagarians’ net worth is second highest in the country, but it has declined 11.1 per cent over that four year period.
