RCMP seize marijuana planted in remote western Manitoba oat field
RUSSELL, Man. - Prairie farmers are used to dealing with invasive weeds in their fields, but not this kind.
RCMP in western Manitoba say a farmer was out checking his oat crops in a remote field and found big healthy green marijuana plants sprouting up through the grain.
Police say they seized 146 mature plants that were ripe for harvest without damaging the oat crop.
No word on who is suspected of planting the marijuana.
