Allied adds two Calgary properties

TORONTO -- Allied Properties REIT (TSX:AP.UN) will be adding two Calgary office buildings to its portfolio for $27.3 million total.

The Toronto-based real estate investment trust says it's buying the Demcor Building, built in 1906 and redeveloped for office use 20 years ago.

Allied is also acquiring the Chamber of Commerce Building, which was built in 1912 and renovated in 1978. It's designated by the Alberta government as a historic site.

In total, the Toronto-based real estate investment trust will have 14 office properties in the Calgary area.
