Bombardier rail division lands US$101M 8-year deal at San Francisco airport

BERLIN - Bombardier Transportation (TSX:BBD.B) has announced a new eight-year contract worth 80 million euros (US$101 million) to operate the automated people mover system at San Francisco International Airport.

The Berlin-based railway equipment division of Montreal-headquartered Bombardier Inc. built the system and has run it since it opened in 2003.

The 38-vehicle fleet operates 24 hours a day along 10 kilometres of elevated guideway connecting the airport's terminals, parking garages and the Bay Area Rapid Transit station.
