This week in business:

Monday -- in Toronto, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention, for people, companies and organizations in, or connected with, mineral exploration kicks off. In Calgary, Talisman Energy Inc. will release its 2013 guidance and Pembina Pipeline and Vermillion Energy hold fourth-quarter conference calls. In Ottawa, Defence Minister Peter MacKay addresses the Economic Club of Canada on "Investing in Defence, Investing in Canada."

Tuesday -- in Toronto, Scotiabank will report its first-quarter results and Allied Properties REIT releases fourth-quarter and year-end results and Foraco International SA, a global provider of mineral drilling services, releases fourth-quarter and year-end results. In Winnipeg, Imris Inc. will hold its fourth-quarter conference call.

Wednesday -- in New York, Canadian Pacific CEO E. Hunter Harrison addresses the J.P. Morgan Aviation, Transportation and Defense Conference. In Montreal, Laurentian Bank holds its first-quarter conference call. In Ottawa, the Bank of Canada announces its target for the overnight rate. In Toronto, Torstar Corp. and HealthLease Properties REIT will report fourth-quarter results.

Thursday -- in Mirabel, Que. Bombardier will provide a program update on its CSeries aircraft. In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases building permits for January and the Canadian international merchandise trade figures for January. In Oakville, Ont. Vicwest Inc. will hold its fourth-quarter conference call. In Lake Louise, Alta., the 70th annual National Canadian Home Builders' Association Conference kicks off.

Friday -- in Montreal, engineering and construction firm SNC-Lavalin Group will hold its fourth-quarter conference call. In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the labour force survey for February and labour productivity, hourly compensation and unit labour cost for the fourth-quarter.
