Today -- in Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the industrial product and raw materials price indexes for November. In Washington, the U.S. Institute for Supply Management releases its service sector index for December and the U.S. Commerce Department releases factory orders for November.

Tuesday -- in Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases international merchandise trade results for November.

In Toronto, chief economists from the five major Canadian banks will speak at Economic Outlook 2014, an event hosted by the Economic Club of Canada.

Wednesday -- in Washington, the U.S. Federal Reserve releases consumer credit data for November, the Federal Reserve releases the minutes from its December interest-rate meeting and payroll processor ADP releases private-sector employment figures for December.

Thursday -- in Toronto, the Ontario Securities Commission holds a confidential pre-hearing conference involving former newspaper baron Conrad Black and former Hollinger Inc. director John Boultbee, and Postmedia Network Canada Corp. will hold its first-quarter conference call. In Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases building permits data and its new housing price index results for November. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. releases preliminary housing start data for December.

Friday -- in Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the labour force survey for December. In Washington, the U.S. Labor Department releases employment data for December and the Commerce Department releases wholesale trade inventories for November.
