Today -- in Edmonton, the Western Cities Summit begins with delegates from across North America. In Toronto, CIBC hosts the royalties investment conference.

Tuesday -- in Chicago, Canadian Oil Sands Ltd. presents at the Global Hunter Securities 100 Energy Conference. In Vancouver, Hanwei Energy Services Corp. holds a fourth-quarter and year-end conference call. In Washington, the U.S. Commerce Department releases new-home sales for May and the Conference Board releases the consumer confidence index for June.

Wednesday -- in Washington, the U.S. Commerce Department releases the first-quarter gross domestic product and May durable goods data. In Toronto, the 2014 Skills Summit including panels of experts discussing a variety of labour market topics.

Thursday -- in Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the payroll employment, earnings and hours figures for April. In Calgary, Shaw Communications releases its third-quarter earnings and holds a conference call. In Toronto, CRTC chairman Jean-Pierre Blais speaks to the Economic Club of Canada and Indigo holds its annual general meeting of shareholders. In Stellarton, N.S., Empire Co. Ltd. holds a conference call to discuss the company's financial results for the fourth quarter.

Friday -- in Ottawa, Statistics Canada releases the industrial product and raw material prices indexes for May, principal field crop areas for June and national tourism indicators for the first quarter.
