Finning Canada and Alberta union sign deal to extend current contract

VANCOUVER - Heavy equipment dealer Finning International Inc. (TSX:FTT) says its Canadian division and a key union have extended a contract for 1,700 employees in Alberta and the Northwest Territories for one year.

The extended agreement with Local 99 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers , announced Thursday, is subject to a ratification vote by the Union membership over the next month.

The current contract which governs the hourly workers is set to expire at the end of April.

Finning Canada is a wholly owned unit of Finning International Inc. (TSX:FTT), the world's largest seller, renter and services of Caterpillar equipment such as giant trucks, earth graders and loaders.

Its main customers are the mining, oilsands and construction sectors,

Finning International is based in Vancouver and operates in western Canada, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, as well as in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
