Sandra Altner

CEO of the Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba was named president of the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship for a two-year term at the conference and annual general meeting held in Victoria earlier this month. CCSBE is a national organization with a mandate to create a collaborative marketplace for the exchange of ideas, research and best practices among academics, practitioners and policy influencers for the benefit of Canadian entrepreneurs.

 

Kate Daniels

is the new head of corporate finance for Lazer Grant, Manitoba's largest independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers. In this role, Daniels will manage sell-side assignments and other transaction advisory services as leader of Lazer Grant's mergers and acquisitions team. A certified accountant, Daniels is a 2009 graduate of the Chartered Accountants School of Business and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Winnipeg.

AWARDS

Tactica Interactive

a local digital media company, took home three wins and a runner-up certificate in the Signature Awards. Tactica won in the Website, Interactive, and Game or Application categories. Tactica was also recently honoured for its work on Verdict, co-produced with Frantic Films, which took home five awards at the Los Angeles Web Series Festival.

 

Dimension Display Inc. President Len Greisman

was presented with the Signature Award for Best Trade Show Booth -- a custom-designed, iPad-driven portable theatre for a 10-foot booth space -- at the recent 25th Annual Signature Awards, sponsored by Advertising Association of Winnipeg. Dimension Display was also presented with the runner-up Certificate of Recognition for a tension-fabric display.

 

Pat Murphy and George C. Webster

Winnipeg health-care ethicists, have received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Catholic Health Alliance of Canada. The award honours individuals who have inspired and mentored others in Catholic health care and whose accomplishments, over the course of a career have strengthened the Catholic health ministry.

Murphy and Webster work out of St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, but offer their services to a wide range of organizations within the Catholic Health Corporation of Manitoba and have had an enormous impact on an entire community.
