Shiela Alcera Estacio

will be moving into a new role as sleep therapist at Medigas Manitoba Respiratory Wellness Centre. In this role she will provide CPAP therapy to patients who have obstructive sleep apnea.

Hannah Rose Pratt

has joined the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy in the Faculty of Medicine with the University of Manitoba as their Communications Officer. Previously, she was the Communications Coordinator with the Winnipeg Humane Society. Pratt is also a Communications Director with the Canadian Public Relations Society's Board of Directors, and a graduate of Red River College's Creative Communications program.

Anil Sedha

a senior IT professional working with Postmedia Network in Winnipeg and Manitoba VMUG leader has been selected as a vExpert 2013 for having demonstrated significant contributions to the community and a willingness to share expertise with others. The vExpert group is responsible for much of the virtualization evangelism that is taking place in the world -- both publicly in books, blogs, online forums, and VMUGs and privately inside customers and VMware partners. Sedha has been named amongst 579 vExperts, which is the largest group yet in the five-year history of the global program.

Philip Houde CTM

CEO of River East Travel, has been elected to the first North American board of directors of the Ensemble Travel Group. The Ensemble Travel Group was founded in New York in 1968 and is a co-operative made up of 850 independent travel agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada that combined account for well over a billion dollars in travel sales each year. The board is made up of six Canadian agency members and seven U.S. agency members.

president of Winnipeg-based Strauss event & association management has been elected as the only Canadian board member of the AMC Institute. Strauss is Manitoba's largest full service association management company serving provincial and national associations. AMC Institute is the trade association representing the global association management company industry.


Actyl Group

a leading Canadian recruiting and human resources organization has recently opened its new foreign recruiting office in Belize City. The office, which replaces Actyl's temporary location in Belmopan, will help the company meet the growing demand in Canada for skilled workers across many different sectors. This will be the firm's first international recruiting office in Central America. In Canada, Actyl has offices in Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg.

Dr. Barry Rayter

A lifetime of dedicated service to the profession has earned a provincial practitioner one of the highest honours in Manitoba oral health. Dr. Barry Rayter has been named the Alumni of Distinction recipient of 2013 for the Faculty of Dentistry and the University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association. Since graduating as a member of the Class of 1964, Dr. Rayter served the community as a general practitioner for more than 45 years, all the while being actively involved in the administration of the profession through its provincial association.
