Claudia Garcia de la Huerta

has joined Golden West Broadcasting Ltd. She will be responsible for community engagement and development at Winnipeg's soon-to-be-launched classical music and jazz station. Her responsibilities include developing partnerships and sponsorships with artistic organizations and advertisers. She will also be producing arts and entertainment content. A graduate of Red River College's Creative Communications program, Garcia de la Huerta was a host/producer at CBC Radio both here and in Toronto for 10 years. For the past five years, she has been working in Manitoba's film and television industry -- most recently as marketing and communications co-ordinator for FRANK Digital.


Mandy Bacon

has joined Suckerpunch as account manager, responsible for building and maintaining client relationships for the advertising, branding and communications firm. Bacon has more than 12 years of experience in account management and recently returned to Manitoba after a decade of living in British Columbia.


Don Binda

has joined Arnold Bros. Transport Ltd. as vice-president and assistant general manager. He is responsible for leading the team in maximizing revenue quality, company growth and strategic management planning. Arnold Bros. is a diversified North American trucking firm that has terminals throughout Canada. Prior to joining Arnold Bros., Binda held senior management roles with various organizations and most recently was vice-president of finance and operations for B.A. Robinson Co. Ltd.


Hilton Winnipeg Airport Suites and Fortis Properties

has announced the appointment of Adam Chernichko as executive chef. He received his Red Seal designation in 2009 and has been part of the Hilton team as the sous-chef for the past four years. Previously, he worked at the Sheraton Hotel Winnipeg as a second cook.


McKim Cringan George

is pleased to announce two promotions to the agency's executive team. Audra Lesosky has been promoted to vice-president, accounts and strategic services and Naomi Medeiros has been appointed vice-president, finance and operations. Current regional VP for Saskatchewan, Linda Tiefenbach, is taking on new responsibilities as vice-president, business development. In other staffing news, Tom Boresky has been promoted to studio art director and Patrick Faucher has been promoted to strategic planner. Paddy McGee joins the creative department as a copywriter and Clayton Rifkind joins the media department as senior media specialist.
