Barbara Axworthy

has become director of alumni relations at the University of Manitoba. Axworthy brings to her new role many years of experience in strategic planning, communications, relationship-management, marketing and leadership. She has been director of corporate communications for Qualico Homes and spent over a decade with Investors Group, rising to the position of vice-president, corporate communications and brand management. She is a member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's board of directors. In her new role with the University of Manitoba, she will work with the associate vice-president of external relations in close collaboration with the alumni association to establish deep, meaningful and productive relationships with U of M alumni in Manitoba and around the world.


Angela Preteau,

of Frostiak & Leslie Chartered Accountants, has authored her first book, Canadians & the IRS, published by Knowledge Bureau, a Winnipeg-based national educational institute and financial publisher. She is also the author of the cross-border taxation certificate course available through Knowledge Bureau.
