Dr. Alanna Junaid

this year's University Gold Medal winner, also won a national research award from the Canadian Dental Association last year. It is the first time in more than 20 years a Manitoba student claimed the title at the cross-Canada competition.

received the College Award for Distinguished Service at the annual meeting of the Canadian College of College Leaders. This award recognizes an individual for his or her significant contribution to the college or to the advancement of the college mission, vision, values and strategic direction.

 

Susan Lessard-Friesen,

deputy registrar of the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba, is the recipient of the Patient Safety Champion Award. This award recognizes a leader in the health-care system who shows a passion and commitment for improving patient safety.
