The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies Manitoba
honoured excellence in engineering at its 16th annual awards gala. The Keystone Award for the project that best represented the program's standards of excellence was presented to KGS Group for the Mayo B Hydro Enhancement Project -- Intake Tunnelling and Rock Stabilization. Awards of Excellence were presented for projects submitted by KGS Group, Teshmont Consultants LP, WSP Canada Inc., Accutech Engineering Inc., and Dillon Consulting Limited. SMS Engineering, Tetra Tech WI Inc., MMM Group Limited, KGS Group, Stantec Consulting Ltd. and JR Cousin Consultants Ltd. also received Awards of Merit. Tom Wingrove, P. Eng. of Golder Associates Ltd. was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award. Grantley King, P. Eng. of MMM Group Limited was presented with the Engineering Action Award and Jomar Manzano, P. Eng. of Tetra Tech WI Inc. with the Rising Star Award.
The Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association
received a Pork Industry Award from Manitoba Pork for the outstanding contribution of its swine practitioners to the pork industry in 2014, in addressing disease challenges and protecting the health status of the Manitoba swine herd. Karl Kynoch, outgoing chairman of Manitoba Pork, received a Pork Industry Award at the AGM in appreciation and recognition of his outstanding commitment, dedication and service.
